This project was a challenging renovation, the building was totally gutted out and rebuilt including the HVAC. The building is heated through a series of induction heaters that were installed along the perimeter of each floor, the induction heaters had to be installed with accuracy and precision as they are also an architectural feature of the building.
In addition to the Ventilation System, BSM Services was also responsible for installing the baggage conveyor system for the facility. This work was carried out with our Industrial Division.
We are very proud to have installed the Ventilation for this High End Retail Facility. Special care was taken to ensure the exposed ventilation piping was attractive to the customer’s eye and fit in with the décor of the store.
The biggest challenge for this project was to hang spiral in the main lobby. There was a spiral run on each level with a roof that was at 40ft so we had to hang the spiral from one another with aircraft cable to make the hangers look invisible!
This three storey, 65,000 square foot facility was the first LEED certified building to be built in Newfoundland.
As well as providing HVAC, BSM also was assigned the task to fabricate and install the custom metal roof for the landmark lighthouse at this site.
This project was fabricated primarily in Stainless Steel due to the Beer making process. Besides the Ventilation System we also provided the Stainless Steel Cladding on the outside Vat as shown, as well as Vats that are located inside the building.
The building in Moncton’s Caledonia Park is a showstopper not only in looks but also it has been chosen for an energy efficiency award for the Smart Start commercial new construction program because it was designed and built to incorporate many energy efficient features.
